I Adopt U
A project of News 8 and San Diego Country Adoptions

Welcome to Adopt 8

Each week News 8 News's Marcella Lee introduces you to local children waiting to be adopted. You can watch her Adopt 8 stories Sundays at 5 p.m. and Mondays between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. Since this project began, more than 150 children have been adopted through Adopt 8.

All children featured on Adopt 8 are available for adoption through San Diego County. There are hundreds of other foster children of all ages who are also waiting for "forever" families. In most cases adoption fees are waived and many of the children are eligible for an adoption subsidy. You are not required to be married, own a home, or adopt a child of your same race.

You can also get general information about the adoption of foster children in the United States at www.adopt.org. For information about California children who are available for adoption, visit the California Kids Connection and the San Diego County Adoptions web site.
